Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is primarily responsible for managing and overseeing the sales team. This role is heavily focused on supporting and optimizing every sales individual’s revenue targets. As a humble “servant leader,” the Sales Manager will have a deep understanding of how knowledge, empathy, and kindness impact the team and customers. The Sales Manager is more than a manager, they will be hands-on alongside the team, providing them with full credit for successes while taking ownership of setbacks.

Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, implementing the company’s Go-To Market Strategy, and hitting the team’s annual revenue targets (multi-7 figures $ ARR TCV) will be the primary focus for this role. The Sales Manager will also engage with C-level executives, drive an opportunity pipeline, and work closely with Sales and Marketing Operations as well as Marketing to exceed customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

Responsibilities 
  • Take ownership of all annual sales targets within the assigned territory to meet/exceed targets.

  • Provide improvements to the existing strategic plan to exceed NET NEW ARR targets

  • Analyze pipeline and lead data, report on key KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and deliver weekly accurate reporting to the executive team.

  • Get involved 100% of the time to help clients get “over the line” when asked by your team

  • Motivate and energize the staff to make proactive decisions in all their communications with customers.

  • Manage and maintain sales staff by recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and performance monitoring.

  • Implement a sales training and orientation program to educate new hires as our company grows.

  • Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels.

  • Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing operations teams and foster a culture of continuous process improvement.

  • Assess the competitive landscape and institute changes to the sales program in response to competitors’ changes.

  • Assist with developing and managing sales operating budgets.

  • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.

  • Meet with key clients, assisting sales executives with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.

  • Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.

 

A little more about you...
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a relevant field
  • Self-motivated professional with a proven undeniable QUOTA CRUSHING track record
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, SaaS experience required
  • HubSpot CRM proficiency experience required
  • Ideally located in San Diego, but remote employment opportunities with quarterly visits to the corporate office in San Diego, CA.

  • Understanding of how to position products against competitors
  • Ability to prepare reports and use the appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting, and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends
  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with the ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture
  • Capable of understanding new information and software systems at a rapid pace
